What would you do if you have three days to live?

Chris Wright would get a choir to sing on the subway. But we're not waiting until he has three days. We're going to make it happen on TUESDAY OCTOBER 12TH, AT UNION STATION. 8:30am

Tuesday morning! sing! make people smile! overcome some boundaries! hang out with some cool people before you start your day!

Please come be a part of a flash mob on the subway in Toronto.
Read the following details carefully.

What are we doing?

We're singing "LEAN ON ME" (lyrics below) on the subway platform at Union Station at 8:30am.

Where do we meet, and at what time?

8:20am! I know it's early. You can do it! Set your alarm right now.

We're going to meet
inside Union Station, at the DWA (Designated Waiting Area) on the University line platform.

This might  be a bit confusing, so please read this carefully. Go to Union Station. Get to where the subway is. There are two trains: one goes on the University line (up towards Downsview station: the next station is St. Andrew) and one goes on the Yonge line (up towards Finch Station: the next station is King). You want to be on the platform of the University line train (heading toward Downsview station).

Once you are on the correct side on the platform, find the DWA: the designated waiting area. It will be marked "DWA" and have brighter lighting.

Who do I meet once I get there?

Someone will be holding a sign that says, "Chris" on it. That's our group. Make friends. We're all nice people.

What if I don't sing very well?

Make friends with me, because neither do I! You don't need to be able to sing. You only need a bit of courage. Print out the lyrics below (we'll have extra copies) and sing them in the shower tonight. That's all the preparation you need.

Why are we doing this?

a. because it is something important to Chris Wright, and he's a very nice fellow - and the winner of the You Dream It! We Do It! contest. (see website below for details). b. because everyone on the TTC in the morning seems so distant from one another. with a sad kind of silence. c. because maybe we can, if just for a second, remind them that where there are people gathering, there can be more than just everyone pretending to ignore each other. there can be music. d. because it will be fun, and at the very least, a good experience.

What if I have questions?

You can e-mail [email protected]
or [email protected]

Is there any other way I can help?

Yes! Please tell everyone (everyone!) you know about this, and then call them all in the morning to gently coerce them into coming. The more people we have, the better this will be.

Finally, one more thing:
Union Station is very busy in the morning. Super busy. So don't get flustered by the crowds.

And, if you're able to, please come to have breakfast with us after.

LEAN ON ME Lyrics:

First verse:
Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow

Chorus:
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

So just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'd understand
We all need somebody to lean on

(repeat chorus 'till the cows come home...)

You can YouTube "Lean On Me" if you don't know the tune.
